I used a plastic bowl to block the tapestry yarn hat. Kyle saw it sitting on the kitchen counter, and found a use for it. So should I lightly felt it and cut an opening into it so it can take on a new life as a tea cosy?
On the sock progress front, in 20 days Da Socks went from this:
to this: The next evening I finished heel#1: And yesterday morning I woke up early, so I grafted heel #1 closed.
I did heel #2 yesterday afternoon/evening, and just need to graft it closed.
I don't have a photo of it, because my camera macro function wouldn't be able to handle the closeup, but I managed to kitchener stitch heel #1 closed purlwise. With the Vogue Knitting book open on my lap the whole way through. What happened was that I was afraid that I was looping the yarn over itself, so I would "correct" it as I went along. I'm going to try to do it correctly for heel #2. |

That hat is way too pretty to be turned into a cozy! Great work, I love the colors. It should definitely leave the house on someone's hat so the entire world can admire your knitting skills.
Wow! The socks are looking great!!
And I love your snow! Both bloggy snow and real snow! :-)
Love the snow, both on the blog and at your home!
I love the socks! So, do you like the afterthought heel? Wondering if I should try a pair one day!
