Yarn stories

Today was a day to play with yarn.

This is MY yarn; go find yourself yarn with YOUR name on it!

(Thanks Michelle!!!)

Rather than going skiing, I worked on March's pair of socks...
(Many thanks to Jane for sending me 4 skeins of this Regia 6 ply - note the DPNs - 2.75mm Bryspuns: comfy and fast!)
...and instead of packing, I dug through my stash to collect yarns for an EBTKS (because it's very important that I have my upcoming knitting projects all sorted out if I am going to be living in 2 provinces for a few months)
It's all about the priorities around here...

Ruth, Jo, and Sandi wondered what this was:

It's the Penticton Giant Peach. It's a snack stand during the warm weather.

Kelowna has the Giant Apple. If we had a telescope, we could probably see this from our house.

Why, yes, one must certainly keep the priorities straight...
The March sock looks nice so far - is it a Jaywalker?

I was right! (In my head, of course). When I was a kid growing up on the Lowe Mainland we used to drive into the interior (Kamloops, Kelowna, Summerland) to get fruit (mostly peaches) to bring crates of it home for my Mom to can.

And that giant apple is steps away from where we now live.

Ah, and I thought it was just Australia that had giant pieces of fruit (and random animals and crayfish) dotted around the country-side.
