A quick update before bedtime: Greedo has taken up Yoga: Somerset has normal thyroid function, and remains incredibly cute: I am knitting a jumper for my niece out of Kroy and Kureyon sock yarns: The pattern is called Tjorven. I have named my own version Tnoroyven. It is a good thing that I decided against knitting socks for myself out of the Kureyon - the yarn broke once, and several times I have found myself knitting very gently out of concern that the unspun bits will pull apart. Not to mention that there was a knot about 1/8 of the way through the yarn. I would end up having dozens of ends to weave in when I finally finished the socks. Although my usual practice is to just let Noro stripe as it wishes, I have altered this yarn - there should be a green band in the middle of the fuschia - I had initially planned to include it, but the knot that I came across connected the 2 strips of fuschia together. I thought it would look weird to suddenly have green appear more than halfway down the skirt, so I will be excising the green bits. I still have a second skein of Kureyon sock that I am going to use for a Baby Surprise Jacket. The parents of the jumper recipient are expecting Baby #2 around the same time as Kid #1's birthday. The colourway (S150) is pretty gender neutral - grey, charcoal, green and turquoise. I have until June to finish them both. |
